Before I'm pregnant, I've always thought that baby cot is important as part of the baby's bedding. Not until I was told by some experienced mothers that you can definitely survive without it because the baby won't be using it for long. In the end it'll just collecting dust and you have to tuck it away in the corner. Plus, it's expensive so you'd better stash those amount of money in something more useful later on.
Hearing that, we have made a firm decision of not wanting to buy any baby cot or playpen for the baby. But if someone wants to give it as a newborn gift, we'll be more than happy. Haha! For the time being, the baby will be sleeping with us until she's old enough to be able to sleep by her own. I'll buy her own bedding set, portable is the most efficient way since we'll be moving around a lot.
Having said that, I've looked around and found most bedding sets sold on the market are boring, and mostly were made of fibre. While latex beddings are simply plain expensive. I don't like fibre beddings because they have shorter lifespan and after few times using it, the material is thinning faster than you can imagine. So it's a no no. As usual, I put my trust on Mr.Google and found some local online shops selling the traditional kekabu (kapok) bedding sets at an affordable price and cute prints.
Here's what I've found so far:
Bantal Kabu. Price is slightly higher than average. But what sets my eyes on this is the design. Cute, fresh and modern without any old-fashioned ruffles. And the packaging is neat too. Price mentioned is inclusive of shipping.
Little Diva Boutique. They have pretty prints for their bedding sets. Everything is soooooooooo cute. Apart from kekabu bedding set, they also make diaper stacks, pillows, baby bibs, blankets, quilt set and anything handmade. Price is quite steep depending on your choice and preference.
Manjaku Comel. Price is affordable. They have various packages for you to choose from. It's either the bedding set with cover, without cover or you can choose to buy them loose. It's up to your liking.
Kedai Mini Kelantan. Price is very affordable too, and they do have certain packages for you to choose from. You can pick your own fabric for the bedding, and your design preferences whether you want it with or without ruffles. They even have a set that comes with a comforter. With all these extras, the price won't even burn a hole in your pocket.
So now I have to decide which one is gonna be my favorite. Will definitely keep you posted on that. :)
