House Renovation: Week Four

It's April already and by now, I can safely say that the house is currently 80% ready. All that's lacking now are just the back grill and front gate, some paint job touch-ups, floor polishing plus some mopping to be done and installing curtain railings, bathroom/toilet accessories and electrical items, ie; wall lights and fans.

The furniture that we ordered earlier arrived just in time, though there were a little mishaps here and there during delivery but everything went well in the end. Here are some pictures taken during the day of my visit:
The master bedroom in super bright color. Hahaha! They installed the window glass and painted the wood frame already.

The front (outer) view of the house with the new glass window. Tiles are done and the wood awning is completed. Tinggal nak cat dinding je.

The inside view of the living hall with lights on and lights off. The door has finally arrived! Yeayyyy! The wall for this area is painted in grey. The main area of the living hall is completed with a simple cornice.

The dining hall. Table set just arrived (we bought them at Macy at a discounted price!) and we decided to unwrap the plastic cover once the construction works are done and over. Otherwise the chairs will be all dusty.

My current favorite area. The kitchen, all in white. Dah rupe showroom lak gamaknye.

Alhamdulillah everything went well just as how we planned and wanted it to be. Eventho we have to strapped in some cash and sacrifice certain things for this major renovation, the look of contentment after seeing everything we've been dreaming of came true right in front of our eyes is amazing! With the baby coming, I'm sure this is double happiness for us to start a family. I thanked Allah for this bountiful sustenance. Alhamdulillah!

Kekabu Nursing Pillow

I'm obsessed with kekabu now. It's not for the baby, even Mummy wants her own kekabu pillow for comfort. Since I'm experiencing a terrible backache lately, I guess it's just the right time for me to get a maternity pillow or at least, a nursing pillow. The purpose is solely to support my bump during sleep time and to cushion my back whenever I sit. And later, it can be used for the baby during breastfeed and to help her lean back.

I have searched around the web for custom-made kekabu nursing pillow. Found some, but either they no longer accept any orders or their choice of fabric is very limited. Pricewise, a normal size kekabu nursing pillow (a big one like Bumble Bee or Baby Love) is priced around RM70-RM90.

So I'm back to the old BantalKabu, since their service (the last time I remember) was top notch and courteous. I just chose their fabrics and they happily custom-made me a nursing pillow, with kekabu of course. Custom order takes about 2-3 weeks to be ready before it can be delivered.

Of course, I'm being a brat and asked them to deliver the pillow to me as fast as possible. They obliged and within 10 days, the pillow reached me safely.

As usual, the neat packaging from BantalKabu, with its signature poly carry bag.

Tadaaaaa! This is big, I must say. It's almost the size of a normal pillow. Priced at RM90 plus delivery. I just realized I bought this at a special price. Thanks to them!

The nursing pillow is stiff and fully packed with kekabu, so it's very good in supporting my back. I also use it as a cushion in between my legs during sleeptime. Very comfortable. It fits nicely around my waist too. The pillow comes with a zippered cover and is beautified with red piping along the lines. Neat workmanship, I must say. No complaint though.

Apart from the nursing pillow, I also received a surprise gift from BantalKabu, as a humble token because I did a review on them. You can read their entry here. My reaction when I first found out about it? Absolutely over the moon! I never thought my writing could attract visitors to their website and help oozing up their business. I just wrote what I really feel regarding their service and it was my sincere review, no hidden interest or anything. I cannot be more than thankful with this act of kindness. In a way, I guess blogging really help others to succeed in their venture. Here, I wish them all the best and may they be successful for many years to come. Amin.
Their entry about me. I'm honestly very honored!

The surprise gift consists of 2 pcs kekabu pillow with covers, large enough for my baby and can be used for adults too. Thank you sooooooooooo much BantalKabu! You guys are the best!

If you're still looking for kekabu pillows or bedding set for your baby, just head down to BantalKabu's website or their facebook page. They may not have the latest fabric design around as compared to others, but I love their quality and courteous service. Kudos to them!

Carter's Mittens

I'm seriously addicted to these colorful mittens. It's not that I didn't buy any mittens yet. In fact, I have a few but they're only those plain white ones, for everyday wear. I know I need a few pair for outings, most preferably colorful ones to match with the baby's plain outfits. Then I came across these mittens from Carter's sold on local online shops.

My BB Clothing (RM12/set)

Chomel Store (RM9/set)

BB Luvs Me (RM10/set)

Supermak Shop (RM8/set)

Aren't they the cutest? I know mittens don't last longer but who cares, these are too cute to resist. Plus, they come in a set of two. Baik kan I siap tuliskan harga lagi untuk reference korang. Sila cakap I baik sekaranggggg!!! Harharhar.

Being me, it's sooooo unusual if I didn't click on anything and put them into my shopping cart. I bought a few set (yeke a few hah hah?) of these adorable mittens as an addition to my ever growing collection. Now I'm left with heaps of colorful tiny mittens.

The cheap collection from Supermak Shop. I love their prints and colors the most. You'll get better price if you buy a lot. So there's another reason to buy in bulk. Hewhewhew.

I'm too happy with their fast service and decided to do another round of purchase.

Okay, the next time they upload another set of new mittens I should steer away. Obviously, these are enough to last throughout the early months of my baby's day.

JJ Cole Collections: Reversible Body Support

It's hard to find JJ Cole items in Malaysia. I looked for them everywhere in Mothercare and Bangsar Village. They do carry this brand but choices are very limited. Maybe because of it's price tag, or maybe because the items aren't common among mothers here and they can do without it.

For all I know, JJ Cole has a practical collection of soft muslin wraps, diaper caddy, infant body/neck support, pacifier pods and the list goes on. I sooooo want to buy its reversible body support for my newborn. Since I know I'll be out most of the time after confinement and will put my baby in the stroller, a good cushion to support her bone structure is important. Market price for JJ Cole Reversible Body support is RM89. But you know how cheapskate I am but still want the best product, so I have to do my own survey and found these online shops selling a complete (if not almost!) JJ Cole collections. Happy! Finally ada jugak JJ Cole kat Malaysia ni.

I found that My BBstore has the best deals for JJ Cole products. Eventho the collection is not extensive compared to the other three competitors, but they do have better bargain for the same products. Why pay more when you can get it lesser? Maybe I was lucky because they're currently on sale until mid April.

The reversible body support comes in three soft colors: khaki, pink and grey

The pink color is sooooooooo shweetttt but I don't want to buy any pinks eventho I'm having a girl because the color is not universal. I was contemplating between khaki and grey tho.

Finally resorted to khaki after thinking that grey is too gloomy for babies. Hahaha!

The reversible part is in cream color. I love the fabric texture. They have the softest velour, perfect for babies!

I bought this at a discounted price of RM69 from its retail price at RM89. Super cheap, rite? Ok apekes ni dah beli support cushion for stroller tapi stroller pun takde lagi ni? Fine! Next mission, nak beli stroller, tak kira! Wahahaha!

My BBstore: Online Shopping Spree

I noticed most online baby shops are having sales until mid April. This is good because I still have a few items in my checklist that needs to be completed. That means, I can shop at a cheaper price without having to go to the store. *heaven*

I clicked on My BBstore the other day to buy a few stuffs. Yes, I just put four items into my shopping cart in the morning and later in the afternoon, they sent me an e-mail saying that the items have been shipped. As usual, I received them the next day, right on my doorstep. Super efficient delivery from Taqbin!

The big box is finally here!

From JJ Cole Collections. Reversible Body Support (RM69) and Diapers Caddy (RM99). These are the cheapest in town, trust me! Wheeeeeee!

NUK Silicone Orthodontic Soother (RM22.80) and The First Years Digital Thermometer (RM26.91).

I make sure all these items exceeded RM200 in a single billing so I can apply its free shipping to my package. Hahaha kedekut nak bayar shipping pun berkira. Ppfftttttt!

Btw, I'll make a separate entry about those JJ Cole items real soon. So stay tuned!
